After launch with a group of early adopters launching interesting marketplaces in Australia, The Sharing Engine entered into exclusive license agreements with existing customers in December 2012. Because of this, The Sharing Engine was unable to accept new customers from January 2013 to October 2015.
The Sharing Engine was founded originally in Singapore in 2011 as HeyPal. The idea was to bring an easier way for people to rent and sell used goods to each other in social and environmentally responsible ways.
